Detroit Slipping Further Down?
On freep.com I noticed that the main issues are still the murder of Tara grant, and the abandoning of Detroit that comerica is doing. In Wayne county though a jury convicted a suspected serial killer as murder 1. He supposedly killed six prostitutes. Also he is being charged for rape for the one women who survived. The thing that sticks out to me was how at the end of the article they really show that the woman who was raped was also a shady figure. The reporter tells us that the victim told the court she was raped after smoking crack two times in one day with the man. She obviously knew she was hanging with the wrong crowd. I'm not overlooking the fact that she was raped, but she had to have some feeling that she was in danger.
The story that really interests me is the one about comerica. I don't necessarily want to right about comerica leaving Detroit, but i want to right about the decline of the city, and whether or not it will be able to ever survive again. I have really strong feelings about the city and i really want to see it come back from all these hard hits. All of my family lives in metro Detroit. I really don't ever plan on leaving, so obviously I would like to see some changes. As I just read another article about comerica leaving. This one wasnt so negative. It was how we should thank comerica for only moving two hundred jobs out of Michigan. It says how if we pull all of our accounts out of their banks then they will close all the branches, and that would hurt us way more. Of course this one didn't make the front page because it isn't bashing Detroit. Why is it that negative news is more popular? I think the truth is because people like to bitch about everything. They are always looking for the negative.
